Help on Language Detection Issue for Repositories

Hello GitHub Users,

I am new to GitHub and have recently uploaded some projects. However, I am encountering an issue with the language detection for two of my repositories on GitHub. The repositories are as follows:

Repository 1: 5-Day-Coding-Challenge

Issue: The repository contains HTML, CSS, and JavaScript files, but only HTML is being correctly reflected in the repository's language statistics on my GitHub profile. CSS tag is not showing up.

Repository 2: CFG-SQL-Deloitte

Issue: This repository primarily contains SQL files, but it is not being recognized as such on my GitHub profile. Additionally, there is no language detection tag displayed next to the repository name. It has 8 folders and all folders have .sql files in it.

Steps Taken:

• Ensured all files have the correct extensions.
• Created a .gitattributes file for the CFG-SQL-Deloitte and 5-Day-Coding-Challenge repository to force recognition of SQL/HTML and CSS files:

*.sql linguist-language=SQL

*.html linguist-language=HTML
*.css linguist-language=CSS

• Committed and pushed the changes to the main branch for both repositories.
• Despite these steps, the languages used in the repositories are still not being accurately reflected on my profile. CSS and SQL are not being recognized in the designated repositories, and there is no language detection tag displayed for the CFG-SQL-Deloitte repository.

I would appreciate it if you could investigate these issues and help ensure the correct languages are displayed and recognized on my profile.

Hi @FarahIbrar ,

I have a private repo with some SQL files with .sql extension but it's listed as TSQL.

Actually I've never seen the SQL stat on GitHub, I may be wrong but perhaps it's considered just a data language by GitHub language stats.
