I think there is a typo in the "Create secret gist" menu, shown here:
It currently says:
I think GitHub is doing the hiding, as opposed to search engines (e.g. Google, Bing, Yahoo) doing the hiding. Based upon that understanding, the following makes more sense to me:
...that is, unless the author was referring to GitHub's own search engine:
