I have an active workspace and use the copilot chat feature but when using "Apply in Editor" with the correct file selected, Copilot opts to create a new file called "local" on my desktop and write the code to that file rather than my active file which is a python file.
I have uninstalled, reinstalled, disabled, re-enabled, looked for settings to direct this behaviour and even swapped between the pre-release and stable versions but am still experiencing this frustrating behaviour.
It's most likely something I am doing/have missed and would appreciate any illumination on this matter as I have to manually copy and paste code between the chat and my active file which is a little frustrating.
Any help on correcting this behaviour within the VS Code environment would be greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards.
