I just had the same problem. For me, the solution presented in this other thread worked like a charm. |

if this is the notification bug, this is a known issue from years ago, and it resurfaced as I'm seeing a lot of this right now, check this workaround |

Hi there! 😊 I totally understand why this is frustrating—you got a sketchy repository invite, ignored it (smart move!), and now that ghost notification won’t disappear. Don’t worry, this is super common and harmless (the repo is long gone, so there’s zero risk). Let me explain why it happens and how to make it vanish: 🔍 Why the notification sticks around Let it expire normally (after 7 days), or 🧹 How to delete it (2 simple ways) Go to your GitHub Notifications page (click the bell icon 🔔 up top). Open your browser’s address bar. 🌟 Pro tip for peace of mind (P.S. If this clears up the confusion, marking it as the accepted answer helps others with the same spooky notifications! 🌌✨) |

I was sent a notification from a suspicious repository about two weeks ago. The message said that the request would expire within a week, so I did nothing. The repository as expected is long gone, but the open notification still remains in my feed. How do I delete it? Thanks!
