For the love of God, Github is not social media. I don't want to see "trending" repositories. What could that possibly mean? I know what I am interested in and I know how to find that. I don't want Github's "artificial intelligence" to suggest repositories. Honestly. Can anything just be good instead of monetized? |

uBlock Origin or Tampermonkey. Target the trending div and you'll take out the recommended at the same time. |

I desperately want this to go away. I mostly use private repositories, although I'm hoping to be more active in the future. As of today, my "popular" public repositories are:
In both cases, I think there's utility in leaving them visible in case future people are trawling through history... but I absolutely do not want them front and centre on my profile. I guess I'm going to end up deleting them? |

Really needs that unnecessary, ugly sidebar to go away. |

In the old interface GH release publishing could be removed in repo. Tip Try opening the repo and unchecking the Star so that your personalized feed does not show next release. |

Three years eh? Maybe that's the release cycle for a boolean/checkbox feature in settings at this point? Here's one trick I found: create a gist, it can be blank, or have placeholder text - pin only that gist/repository. |

Introduction
It seems that recently the GitHub default dashboard changed to include a "popular repositories" section if/when you don't have any pinned repositories. This would be fine, except in our organization the "popular repositories" section is completely made up of old, public repos that we never look at. This means a large portion of our main repositories page is taken up by content that we have to scroll past to see the things we are interested in.
In short ...
💢 I DON'T CARE ABOUT "POPULAR REPOSITORIES" IN MY ORGANIZATION ACCOUNT!!! 💢
Reproduction Steps
Resolution
Just make the "popular repositories" section optional. That's all I want.
Finally
Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
