Currently, Google strongly recommends third-party integrations that do not use Service Account Keys as one of its security requirements.
This includes the implementation of organization-level constraints to prevent the issuance or import of Service Account Keys, and use cases for Service Account Keys require exception settings.
However, currently, streaming GitHub's Enterprise Audit Log to Google Cloud requires a Service Account Key. This deviates from current security best practices and lags behind other third-party vendors like DataDog.
The recommended implementation method is to issue impersonation permissions for service accounts issued per tenant, as seen with DataDog.
I am eagerly looking forward to the prompt implementation of this feature request. Issuing or uploading these keys poses risks of key exposure and potential theft, which should be avoided.
If you have any comments regarding this request, please let me know. Thank you.
