Application not being submitted because of email address verification

Hi everyone,

I am currently trying to apply for the education program. After I select my email address, University and upload my ID, the submission fails with the following error.

There was an error creating the discount request. Errors: Discount request could not be created. Discount request errors: School email must be verified on your GitHub account

My email address is already verified. I double-checked this by clicking again on my verification email. After this, I see:

my_username@my_uni_server is already verified.

I had this problem too, for me it got fixed by deleting the email address from my institution and disabling my VPN. Also try doing it from your computer.

Hi @diegobaronm,

Many users are experiencing the same problem, it's probably some kind of bug on GitHub end, I recommend everyone to contact support by opening a ticket here, select "Other" and let them know.

Hi @diegobaronm 👋 , Thank you for reporting the issues with creating discount requests. The issue with academic emails has now been fixed.

Please ensure your name and address is filled out in the payment information section and apply again here. When you reapply, do not use a VPN and share location with the application.
