I began by mastering Git locally—getting comfortable with version control fundamentals—then transitioned to GitHub as a reliable repository for my code.

I did just the opposite - learned how GitHub worked a few years ago when I wasn't super comfortable with coding yet, and later had to break the habit of calling Git GitHub (and vice versa). Kind of had to play around a little bit when it came to using the terminal, but getting comfortable with that really helped a lot :)
