I recently started using Github projects and I am coming from Jira. I want to have a view similar to Jira roadmaps where I can see the roadmap categorized based on projects (initiatives in Jira). My roadmap is currently pulling based on my Repo but within that, I want to see the hierarchy pf projects then tickets within the projects.

Totally get where you're coming from—coming from Jira, that roadmap/initiative-style view is super handy.

Right now, GitHub Projects doesn’t support native roadmap views exactly like Jira’s initiatives > epics > issues structure. But you can get pretty close with some setup:

1. Use custom fields in your GitHub Project to represent your "Initiatives" or high-level Projects. For example, create a custom field called Project or Initiative.

2. Tag issues or PRs with the appropriate field value to group them under that initiative.

3. Switch to the "Group by" view in your Project board to group by your custom Project field. This gives you a breakdown similar to how Jira roadmaps group by initiatives.

4. If you want more structure, consider using issues as initiatives, and link lower-level issues using GitHub’s issue linking (blocked by, related to, etc.). Then pin those initiative issues to the top of your board for visibility.

It’s not exactly like Jira’s roadmaps, but with some tweaks, you can get a pretty solid high-level overview grouped by initiatives or projects. Hope that helps!
