All of a sudden I'm unable to use Copilot for org account that I'm admin into

Hi,

I’ve suddenly lost access to GitHub Copilot even though I’m an admin of our organization and it shows that Copilot access has been granted to me.

When I go to my personal GitHub Copilot settings, I see the message:

"Your GitHub Copilot subscription has ended."

This is unexpected because:

• I’m still listed as an active admin in the organization.
• Copilot is enabled for the organization and I’ve confirmed access has been assigned.

Step-by-Step Fix

1. Confirm license assignment in the Org:

• Go to Organization Settings → Copilot.
• Verify that your account shows an active seat under Copilot Business.

2. Sign out and back in:

• Completely log out of GitHub in both your browser and VS Code.
• Sign back in to force token and license refresh—this flushes stale personal licenses

3. Check Copilot status:

• Visit https://github.com/settings/copilot. It should indicate that Copilot Business is active, not that your “subscription has ended.”

4. Clear token/cookies if needed:

• In the browser or IDE, clear cached credentials for Copilot.
• In VS Code, disable/re-enable the Copilot extension to prompt a fresh token.

5. Try again in IDE/browser:

• Test Copilot in VS Code or GitHub—if access is set correctly and tokens refreshed, it should work.

Please note

• GitHub only allows one Copilot license per account. When your organization seat is active, your personal subscription is removed. If your environment still references your old personal token, you'll see “Subscription ended.”
• Re-logging forces GitHub to fetch the correct license and token for your account from the org .

If This Doesn’t Work

• Double-check in the organization’s admin panel that your seat is properly assigned.
• Contact GitHub Support with specifics: org name, your account, and that you're an admin but the seat isn't activating.

It's a global issue.

Leaving the organization didn't resolve the issue either. Still says "Managed by ..." on the CoPilot settings page. Attempting to go free or Pro just refreshes the page.

It wasn’t working just a moment ago, but now it’s suddenly working fine. I didn’t make any changes on my end, so I assume GitHub may have taken some action on their side. Thanks if that’s the case!
