Create new issue from the + menu button

I wonder why you can't add a new Issue from the + menu button, then select your repo. We're new to GitHub and it would be far more convenient to be able to create a new issue from any page you're on and not having to browse to the correct repo first.
I'd like to see this feature, but I'm also happy to hear of alternative workarounds (bookmarking? - bit old school, but ok).
