Thank you for this inspiring summary of the month! I love seeing how the community continues to grow and help each other with something as personal and powerful as GitHub profiles. I wanted to offer a little advice for those who are having trouble with the visibility of their contributions: Make sure that:
I also recommend checking out this official article: Why are my contributions not showing up on my profile? And if you've updated your README lately, I'd love to see it! This community really shines when we share our experiments and improvements. |

Nice post reallyπ₯, I've noticed that a rather important feature is missing in the profile part on github, which is #18941 the Ability to remove follower. This feature request already exists for a long time now (3 years) but it still has not been implemented. Could we get someone to take a look at it? thanks guys and galls! |

Thereβs something special about a GitHub profile - part portfolio, part personal journal, part dev playground. This month, the community kept the spotlight on what makes a profile not just functional, but genuinely meaningful.
From questions about missing contributions to deep dives into README upgrades and visibility quirks, we saw folks get curious, get stuck, and get help. And thatβs exactly what this space is for.
Letβs explore the latest profile wins, mysteries, and insights from July. π§
β¨ Community highlights
Here are a few standout moments where the community came together to share knowledge and solve problems:
π Discussions that could use your help
Weβve had a burst of questions around contribution graphs and commit visibility - and now we need your expertise.
Profile experts, where are you at? If you know your way around contributions, nowβs the time to jump in:
π Confused about contribution graphs and commit visibility?
This month we saw tons of questions around graphs not updating, commits not showing, and profile activity going mysteriously quiet.
These are some of the most strategic parts of how Profiles work - and getting them right can make a big difference in how your activity shows up. The good news? GitHub has detailed documentation to help you understand and troubleshoot every step of the way.
Hereβs a pool of content worth bookmarking:
And donβt stop there - explore the open Profile discussions too! Chances are someoneβs facing the same issue you are, or already shared a tip that could save you time.
π£ Weeks 2 & 3 of our Discussions campaign are live!
Over the last few months, weβve seen a lot of posts land in the wrong categories β and weβre doing something about it. Our Discussions Unlocked campaign is all about helping folks understand what the Discussions product is, how to use it, and how to make the most of the category.
Jump into the conversation, learn something new, or just see how others are using the Discussions feature to its full potential! π¬β¨
π§ What the community is curious about
This month brought up lots of questions about Achievements and badges - including this thread on Achievements and this one about badges not showing. If youβve been unsure about how (or if) these features work, youβre not alone!
The GitHub community has been diving into this together, and sometimes the best answers come from people facing the same issue.
Got insights of your own? Jump in and share what youβve seen!
π§ͺ Been tweaking your profile?
Your GitHub profile says a lot - not just about your code, but how you share it.
Maybe you refreshed your README, pinned something new, or organized your contributions differently.
Whatever youβve been experimenting with, weβd love to see it. Drop your latest tweak, tip, or idea in the comments - and letβs keep learning from each other.
