Hey people , i applied for copilot student pack it's been 1 day . It showed me to wait 3 days , but doe it really takes that much time , and my friend told me in case it get rejected i have to go near/in college then do it because of sharing location feature.

GitHub typically says it takes up to 3 days to review and approve student pack applications. However, many people get approved within a few hours or by the next day, especially if everything is submitted correctly.

Your friend is half-right. sometimes GitHub uses IP-based verification to check if you're actually near your school. So being near campus can help in edge cases where GitHub is unsure and does a location check. But it’s not required for everyone.

If it’s been less than 3 days, just wait. That’s normal. If it gets rejected, check the rejection message. You can always reapply with better documentation.

it says that my academic status has been verified , and in next point text is that benefits will be available in 72 hours . do i have to fill details for payment too ?

If it says your academic status has been verified and the benefits will be available in 72 hours, then you're basically approved. it's just processing now.

No, you don’t need to fill in any payment details. The GitHub Student Developer Pack and Copilot student benefits are completely free as long as your academic verification is accepted.

Just wait for the full 72 hours if needed. You’ll get access soon!

The waiting time may vary depending on different factors, such as the volume of requests; it usually takes a few days, but sometimes it can take a little longer, even a couple of weeks.

To redeem others benefits, go to the pack offers page, scroll down to the "All offers" section and select any offer that suits you.

In case you encounter a problem claiming any offer, I recommend you raise a ticket here, select "I am a verified student having trouble redeeming my Global Campus offers" and explain your issue.
