ESIEA student email domain issue: only @ext.esiea.fr allowed, but my official address is @et.esiea.fr

Hello,

I am a student at ESIEA in France.
My official student email is xxxx@et.esiea.fr.
When applying for the GitHub Student Developer Pack, the system only accepts emails with the domain @ext.esiea.fr.

At ESIEA, students are officially provided with @et.esiea.fr emails. Could you please update the allowed domains for ESIEA to include @et.esiea.fr, or advise how I can complete my application?

I can provide proof of enrollment (student certificate and CVEC).

To solve this, you have to contact support by opening a ticket here, select "My selected school has incorrect or incomplete information e.g. domains or campus location" and explain the issue with your academic email domain.

I already tried to open a support ticket with the option "My selected school has incorrect or incomplete information", but it seems GitHub no longer provides individual Education ticket support — I just get redirected to the generic help page.

That’s why I posted here in the Education Discussions.
Could someone from the GitHub Education team please update the ESIEA domains to also include @et.esiea.fr, since it is the official student email format at my school?

I can provide proof of enrollment (certificate + CVEC) if required.

@GabrielPierret, it's unfortunate that support no longer offers direct assistance for these kinds of issues, as many users have been able to address them by opening a ticket, as also outlined in the Student Developer Pack Application + Copilot Pro FAQs:

My selected school states I must have a specific school-issued email address but it’s incorrect, what should I do?

Some schools may require students to be verified by an already confirmed domain distributed by the school. If you are attending one of the schools that request specific verified academic emails and believe the school's details are incorrect please raise a ticket with Education support using the dropdown "My selected school has incorrect or incomplete information e.g. domains or campus location".

In this case, you have to wait for someone from the Education team to view this discussion and sort it out for you. I hope you get a reply as soon as possible.

@GabrielPierret , This situation happens sometimes when universities have multiple official student email domains but only one has been registered with GitHub Education.

Currently, the GitHub Student Developer Pack system validates emails against the allowed domain list that GitHub has on record for each institution. For ESIEA, only @ext.esiea.fr is listed, which is why your @et.esiea.fr address isn’t being accepted.

Here’s what you can do:

1. Submit your application using your @et.esiea.fr email and attach proof of enrollment (student certificate, CVEC, or any official document).

2. If the automated system blocks you, open a support request with the GitHub Education Team here: GitHub Education Support. Include your proof of enrollment and explain that ESIEA officially issues @et.esiea.fr student addresses.

3. GitHub can then manually verify your enrollment and, if necessary, update ESIEA’s allowed domains so that future students won’t face the same issue.

This is a recognized process — once GitHub Support validates your documents, they can approve your access to the Student Developer Pack even if your domain isn’t yet in their system.

This is a domain registration issue on GitHub's side — they only have @ext.esiea.fr in their database for ESIEA, but your actual student email uses @et.esiea.fr. You're not doing
anything wrong.

The support ticket route does still work. As @samus-aran (GitHub maintainer) confirmed, when you go to https://support.github.com/contact/education and select "My selected school
has incorrect or incomplete information (e.g., domains or campus location)", it should open a ticket form — not just redirect you to a generic help page.

If you're getting redirected, try this:

• Make sure you're logged in to GitHub before visiting the support page
• Try in incognito mode or a different browser
• Clear your cache and try again
• Use a different device if the redirect persists

In your ticket, include:

• Your school: ESIEA (France)
• The domain that needs to be added: @et.esiea.fr
• Explain that @et.esiea.fr is the official student email format, while @ext.esiea.fr (currently registered) may be for external/partner accounts
• Attach your student certificate and CVEC as proof

While you wait for the domain fix, try applying with document upload:

• Use your @et.esiea.fr email on your GitHub account (add and verify it under Settings → Emails)
• Apply for the pack and when it asks for verification, upload your student certificate and CVEC
• Select "Proof of enrollment" as the document type
• Even if the email domain isn't in GitHub's system, the manual document review can still approve you

This domain correction benefits all future ESIEA students too, so it's worth pushing the support ticket through.
