The latest update to Github Mobile removed the sidebar menu and has made it much harder/more annoying to navigate on iPad, especially using landscape orientation.
Previously the sidebar made it very easy to switch between views and repos while holding my iPad with 2 hands. It was also extremely nice that the notifications page had it's own sidebar for a list of issues. This made it very easy to view them all and switch between notifications. The smaller panel also made swipe actions very easy to use one handed without reaching across the screen. This is my biggest issue with the new layout, the notifications page is very hard to use on such a large screen.
The swipe actions specifically now require a swipe action that's multiple inches long instead of a small thumb motion like before. See the video below

iPad/tablet screens are not phone screens and should not be treated as such. There's more screen real estate that can be utilized like it previously was. It also takes a lot more movement to click different parts of the screen. The new design and navigation feel very unfriendly to these larger screen sizes. I used to love using the app on my train commute but today it's been nothing but painful to check my notifications and issues/prs.
