We enabled Copilot Insights and want to make sure we collect the usage metrics from the Visual Studio IDE. Reading this article (https://docs.github.com/en/copilot/concepts/copilot-metrics) it lists a "Minimum Copilot Chat extension version" in order for it to work. When we go to Help > About in Visual Studio it says our GitHub Copilot is version 17.14.1431.25910 which is short of the minimum Copilot Chat extension version of 18.0.471.29466 (our Visual Studio 2022 is version 17.14.20). We did not install GitHub Copilot manually as an extension, it was a checkbox option from the Visual Studio Installer. What is the best way to get our GitHub Copilot extension updated to the correct version in this setup? Or should we not use the Visual Studio Installer and install the extension manually?

After reviewing some more, we see multiple Microsoft articles saying the below.

With Visual Studio 2022 version 17.10 or later, the unified GitHub Copilot extension is available as a recommended component in the Visual Studio Installer. It's installed by default with all workloads, unless you choose to exclude it during installation.

With latest versions of Visual Studio, we don't see GitHub Copilot as an extension available by itself so it seems we are limited to only the version made available by Microsoft through the Visual Studio Installer. Is there some other way to get on the GitHub Copilot versions needed for usage metrics?
