How do I get rid of the "We are having a problem billing your account. Please update your payment method or call your payment provider for details on why the transaction failed." alert??? I used github copilot for 2 months but I don't want it any more and I can't cancel it anywhere!!! How to remove this red alert??

Here are the steps to resolve it:

1. Update your payment method:

   • Go to your GitHub Settings
   • Navigate to "Billing and plans"
   • Click on "Payment information"
   • Update or re-add your payment card details

2. Check with your payment provider:

   • Contact your bank or card issuer to ensure:
     • The card hasn't expired
     • There are sufficient funds
     • International transactions aren't blocked (GitHub charges from the US)
     • Your card supports recurring payments

3. If you want to cancel the service:

   • Go to Settings > Billing and plans
   • Find your active subscriptions (like GitHub Copilot)
   • Click "Edit" next to the subscription
   • Select "Cancel subscription"
   • This will stop future billing attempts and remove the alert

4. Alternative solution:

   • If you don't want to continue with paid services, canceling the subscription is the cleanest way to remove the alert permanently

5. Still having issues?

   • Contact [GitHub Support](https://support.github.com/) directly for billing-specific help

The alert will disappear once either your payment goes through successfully or you cancel the subscription causing the billing issue. hope this help you - Kostas

unfortunately I don't see any "cancel subscription" and I can't contact with any human in support.

Sorry for the late reply.
This message usually appears when there’s a failed or pending charge on your GitHub account. Even if you’re currently on the Free plan, an old unpaid invoice from a previous paid plan (Pro, Copilot, or Codespaces) can temporarily restrict the account.

What usually fixes it:
1. Go to Settings → Billing & plans
2. Check Billing history / Invoices
3. Update a valid payment method or pay the outstanding invoice
4. If you don’t want paid features, cancel the subscription after the invoice is cleared

Maybe, GitHub won’t fully restore the account until the billing issue is resolved. If no invoice appears, opening a GitHub Support (Billing) ticket is the only option.

just first check if ur payment card is for international use and also u need to activate the e-dotation ecommerce on it to use it online
