My purchase of GitHub Copilot could not be completed because I received the message: ‘Your account is currently locked due to a failed billing authorization. Please update your payment information.’ It seems my account is locked due to a billing authorization failure, preventing the transaction from going through

This issue occurs when GitHub locks billing after a failed payment authorization.

--Update or re-add your payment method in Settings → Billing

--Ensure your card supports online/international recurring payments

--Wait 24–48 hours for auto-unlock after updating billing

--If still locked, contact GitHub Support (Billing)
