We use the GitHub Slack app to notify developers of pending reviews in a shared channel.
When a new PR is opened, an initial message is posted to the channel.
When the PR is merged, a new message is posted in the thread of the initial message.
So far, so good.,
But the same follow-up message is also shown in the main channel.
I can see how some might appreciate this, but it does not fit our workflow.
The few people who care about a merge (or other event) on a particular PR already follow or check the initial message.
Displaying followups in the main channel constitutes only noise to us, obscuring other PRs that need attention.
I would like an option to show threaded notifications only in the thread.
