Hi there! It sounds like your account might have been caught in an automated spam filter by mistake. Just a heads up: The GitHub Community discussions are mostly for user-to-user help, and staff members rarely process account appeals here. To get your account reviewed and unflagged, you must open a ticket directly with the official support team. Here is what you should do: Go to support.github.com. Select "Contact Support". Choose the option related to "Account or login issues" or "Appeal a flagged account". Since you haven't used any bots or scripts, it's likely a false positive, and they are usually pretty good at fixing it once you reach out through the official channel! |

This community is managed by GitHub employees, but it is not a support forum. The only place to go for answers to account-specific questions like this one is opening a ticket on our Support page. For account related issues, GitHub Support requires that you contact them from the email address verified on that account. If you haven't already, please submit a request using this form: https://support.github.com/contact/cannot_sign_in When completing this step, you won't be required to sign in, but you will need to verify your email address. If you're currently signed into a different account, please sign out first before following the link. This is a public forum, and the community is unable to assist with nor escalate your ticket, but we can assure you it is in the right place. It will be answered in the order it was received based on our team's resources and the amount of tickets ahead of yours. As no other Community Discussions team members will be able to provide additional help with account related questions I am going to close this discussion. We appreciate your understanding and patience while Support works through your request! |

Hi, I am writing to request a review of my account, which has been flagged and is currently unable to authorize third-party applications.
My use of GitHub has been limited to browsing public repositories, following projects or developers, and downloading open-source software for personal use. I have not used automation, scripts, bots, third-party clients, or any non-standard access methods.
As a regular user and reader of open-source projects, this restriction came as a surprise, and I believe my account may have been flagged by mistake or as a false positive.
I respect GitHub’s policies and am fully willing to comply with all rules. I kindly ask if you could review my account and advise whether this restriction can be lifted.
Thank you.
