This is most likely not a configuration issue on your side. At the moment, GitHub Copilot Chat support differs between VS Code and Visual Studio. The VS Code extension includes the full authentication flow for both github.com and GitHub Enterprise (ghe.com) domains, while Visual Studio integration may not yet support all enterprise login scenarios, depending on the Copilot Enterprise configuration and the Visual Studio version you are using. A few things to verify:
If login works in VS Code but the ghe.com authentication option is missing in Visual Studio, it is likely a feature gap rather than a user-side issue. In that case, reporting it as a bug or feature request (including Visual Studio version, Copilot extension version, and whether you are using GitHub Enterprise Cloud or Server) will help the Copilot team investigate. You may also temporarily continue using Copilot Chat through VS Code until enterprise login parity is available in Visual Studio. |

Hi,
I'm using GitHub Copilot Chat extension in VS Code without any problem.
I installed the same extension in Visual Studio 2026 and I'm unable to login, it seems to be missing the login into ghe.com domains.
Am I missing something or this is a missing feature?
Thanks,
LP
