github copilot sign in problem

I have an active GitHub Education student plan and have been using GitHub Copilot for the past month without any issues.

Since today, I am unable to activate or use Copilot. When I try to start Copilot Free or activate Copilot under my Education benefits, I receive the error: "Unable to sign up for GitHub Copilot Free".
