Adding a video player that looks and feels like an intentional part of the UI has been a major challenge for us. While hosting YT videos is technically free, it just stands out from the UI. On top of that, it's impact on the site loading speed is massive. Vimeo offers customization but most small, medium and micro business clients have to stretch their budget to cover its expenses.

So, we built Sato Player for internal use. Sato Player is a custom video player which can be visually customized. We tested it among no-code devs in 2024. At that point, we lacked the ability to store and host videos and all they could do was customize the player and add a an hls URL from wherever they stored the video. In 2025, we changed that.

In our Oct 2025 launch, we added video storage, hosting and a lot more customization capabilities.

We are really hopeful that this will make the lives of devs a bit easier when they are integrating a video player into sites.
