Hello all, I hope everyone is well. My problem is that for some reason, as I have chatted to an agent in VScode, chatting to it to build my app through the terminal, it now stopped responding and stating that it no longer has access to the tools, check your environment, or uninstall and re-install(I did do that but no result). Is there any information on this, and where do I go to check the environment tools, if that is or part of the issue?

My fault, it turns out I had some in built tools unchecked. Thank you anyway.

You can try these steps — this issue usually happens when the AI Agent / Copilot extension loses access to its tools:
Check the extension status:
Go to Extensions → GitHub Copilot / AI Agent and make sure it’s enabled and not showing any errors.
Open Developer Tools:
Help → Toggle Developer Tools → Console
It will show the exact error (like “no access to tools” or “environment missing”).
Reload the environment:
Open Command Palette and run:
Developer: Reload Window
GitHub Copilot: Reset Token

Thank you so much, I did find the problem, a lot of the built in tools were unchecked so i just had to enable them again, all good now but thank you again heaps.

Check that you're using your account that have access to GitHub copilot, you can check this in your profile settings

I've run into this before with Copilot Chat in VS Code. The "no longer has access to tools" error usually means the integrated terminal shell it's trying to use is misconfigured or inaccessible.

First, check which shell your VS Code terminal is set to. Open Command Palette (Ctrl+Shift+P) and run "Terminal: Select Default Shell". Make sure it's set to a valid shell like /bin/bash or /bin/zsh (on macOS/Linux) or PowerShell on Windows.
