The codespace was showing the error message does any one experienced the same ?

Same issue here.

All my Codespaces fail to start across multiple repositories, including newly created Codespaces. It fails both in the browser and in local VS Code.

Main error:
failed to start vs code remote server

Related errors:

• Cannot register remote filesystem provider
• Error getting remote process MCP environment
• ENOPRO: no filesystem provider for vscode-remote://...

This was working yesterday (March 15, 2026), so it does not seem isolated to one repository.

First, I tried rebuilding the container straight from the repo page (just click the three dots menu and hit Rebuild Container).
If that doesn't do the trick, you might want to completely stop the Codespace and give it a fresh start.
I also found that opening it up in the browser editor instead of my local VS Code kind of gave it a kick and forced the server setup to trigger again.
For me, just doing the rebuild ended up fixing the remote server startup, and everything loaded completely normally after that.
