gh codespace cp: -e flag not working

Hi!

Using gh codespace cp to copy files from my local machine to a codespace works fine, but when I try to use the -e flag like in the documentation, it doesn't work, it doesn't expand environmental variables, but it treats it as a literal value, and I get the error dest open "/workspaces/$RepositoryName/": Failure.

Running:

gh codespace cp -e README.md 'remote:/workspaces/$RepositoryName/'

does not work.

I also tried using --expand instead of -e, as well as

remote:'/workspaces/$RepositoryName/'
remote:"/workspaces/$RepositoryName/"
remote:'/workspaces/${RepositoryName}/'
remote:'/workspaces/`$RepositoryName`/'

none of which work. I get the error stated above: dest open "/workspaces/$RepositoryName/": Failure.
