This sounds like an account-status sync issue, not something you can fix in VS Code. GitHub treats these as different benefits: students get Copilot Student, while verified teachers/faculty get Copilot Pro. If your Education approval now shows Faculty, but Copilot still shows Student, your Copilot entitlement likely has not refreshed yet. I’d check Settings → Education benefits and Settings → Copilot first. If Education already shows Faculty there too, then this is probably a GitHub-side mismatch and you’ll need GitHub Support to refresh/correct the benefit on the account. |

This is most likely a sync delay or account refresh issue rather than a real bug in GitHub Copilot. Even after your status changes from Student to Faculty, it can take some time to reflect in Visual Studio Code. First, check your GitHub billing settings to confirm that Faculty benefits are active, then sign out of GitHub in VS Code, restart it, and sign back in to refresh your access. In many cases, this resolves the issue, but if it still shows Student status after 24-48 hours, you should contact support with proof of your approved Faculty benefits so they can update it manually. |

Hello, I have got approval for Faculty education benefits. But co-pilot is still showing Student status and that's why I can not get the faculty benefits of co-pilot agent in vs code. Can anyone tell me how to solve this issue?
Thanks
