If you are on Copilot Pro, then that does not look expected. Also, if you are using Copilot Student through the Student Pack, GitHub has already reduced access to some of the heavier models there, so that may also explain why those options are no longer available on your account. I would first confirm which plan is currently shown under Settings → Copilot. If it still shows Pro and the models are missing, then it is likely an account entitlement issue on GitHub’s side. |

Hello, I am currently an active GitHub Copilot Pro subscriber and have encountered an issue within VS Code. Specifically, I am unable to access the models Claude Opus 4.6 and Claude Sonnet 4.6, as both appear with an “Upgrade” label in the model selection interface. Based on the official documentation, these models are listed as supported under Copilot Pro. My subscription is active, and I have not reached any usage or quota limits, which suggests this may not be related to billing. I would appreciate clarification on the following: Are these models fully available to Copilot Pro users in VS Code? At present, this behavior appears to indicate either an entitlement issue or a discrepancy between the documented features and actual availability. I would appreciate your guidance on resolving this. Thank you. |

This might help: In my experience, version 37.7 has been having issues on VS Code for Windows. I'd recommend trying to Install a Specific Version of the extension. |

Hello,
I am a GitHub Copilot Pro subscriber, but in VS Code I cannot select Claude Opus 4.6 or Claude Sonnet 4.6. Both models are shown with an “Upgrade” label.
This appears inconsistent with the official documentation, which lists these models as supported for Copilot Pro.
My subscription is active, and my premium requests are not exhausted, so this does not appear to be a billing or quota issue.
Please clarify:
Are these two models currently available to Copilot Pro users in VS Code?
If yes, why is my account being prompted to upgrade?
If availability depends on rollout, account type, region, or client version, where is that documented?
This looks like either an entitlement issue or a documentation mismatch.
Thank you.
