Request Refund: Purchased GitHub Pro Instead of GitHub Copilot – No Response Since Feb 06, 2026 Ticket#4065843 #190521

Hi @ehpratah, Sorry to hear about your situation — that’s definitely frustrating, especially after waiting so long without a response. From similar cases others have shared, refunds for accidental subscriptions (especially when canceled quickly and not used) are sometimes granted, but the key issue here seems to be the lack of response from support rather than eligibility. A few suggestions that might help: Try submitting a new support ticket and reference your original ticket number (#4065843). Sometimes tickets can get missed or stuck. Given that: You canceled immediately your case seems reasonable for a refund — it likely just needs to reach the right team. Hopefully a GitHub staff member sees this and can escalate it for you. Good luck, and please keep us updated! |

After 49 days, GitHub finally responded to my ticket and processed the refund. The amount was successfully credited back to me on March 16, 2026. It’s possible that posting this publicly helped bring more attention to the issue as well. |

Hello everyone,
I would like to ask for advice or assistance regarding a billing concern that I have not yet received a response for.
I accidentally subscribed to GitHub Pro (annual plan) while intending to subscribe to GitHub Copilot Pro. I realized the mistake shortly after and canceled the subscription on the same day.
I have already:
Submitted a support ticket under Billing
Sent follow-up messages
Waited for about 49 days
At this point, I have not received any response from GitHub Support.
For context:
The subscription was canceled shortly after purchase
There was no usage of GitHub Pro features
I understand support queues can be busy, but I would really appreciate any guidance on:
Whether anyone has experienced a similar situation
What steps helped get a response or resolution
Whether I should wait longer or escalate further
Thank you very much for your time and help.
If any GitHub staff or moderators can help point this to the appropriate team, I would greatly appreciate it.
