Account flagged - SMS verification rate limited, cannot access GitHub Support #190537

I ran into a similar lockout once and got out by using the account recovery flow instead of the SMS prompt. Go to https://github.com/login and click “Forgot password?” even if you remember yours. After entering your email or username, GitHub will show a “Verify your identity” page that sometimes offers an email‑based code or a backup phone number option. Choose email if it appears; you’ll get a link to reset your password and regain access without SMS. If the recovery page still forces SMS, try clearing your browser cookies or using an incognito window - sometimes the flag is tied to a session token. Once you’re logged in, visit https://github.com/contact and look for the “Contact Support” link at the bottom of the page; it bypasses the SMS check for authenticated users. When you can’t log in at all, tweet a brief message to @githubsupport with your username and a short description of the issue; they often reply with a direct‑message link to a support form that doesn’t require SMS. As a last resort, email support@github.com from the address tied to your account and mention the Education Pack - education support can manually lift the flag. |

Hi,
My GitHub account has been flagged and I'm required to complete SMS verification
before I can submit a support ticket. However, I keep getting:
"You've reached your request limit, please try again later."
This creates a loop where I cannot verify → cannot create a support ticket →
cannot get help.
What happened:
What I need:
Is there any way to escalate this or reach GitHub Support directly?
Thank you.
