With a recent update, the bottom navigation bar now has a dedicated Copilot tab in place of what used to be quick access to my profile/account. This feels like an overly aggressive push for Copilot adoption, and here’s why:
1. Lost quick access to profile The profile tab was something I used daily (repos, stars, activity). Now it takes extra taps to get there.
2. A full tab for Copilot seems excessive The Copilot page itself is mostly empty (“No chats yet” + an upsell to Copilot Pro). Dedicating prime bottom-nav real estate to what is essentially a promo page doesn’t feel user-centric.
3. No opt-out — I couldn’t find any setting to customize the tab bar or swap Copilot back for the profile tab.
Questions to the community:
∙ Is there a way to revert this in settings that I’m missing?
∙ Does anyone else feel this change prioritizes product promotion over daily usability?
Let users choose which tabs appear in the bottom bar, or at least keep the profile tab and move Copilot under Explore or a top-level menu item.
Would love to hear if others share this experience or if there’s a workaround.
