Hi, I purchased Copilot Pro after the 30-day trial. I want to use Claude Sonnet in Visual Studio Code with Copilot Chat, but it says I need to upgrade to a Pro version of Copilot, which I already have.

I've contacted GitHub support to see how they can help, but they haven't responded. Their service is terrible, honestly. Could someone here help me figure out how to fix this or how to activate it? I've already tried everything: updating, clearing the cache, logging out, and everything else.

Hi @darjeanisespina-ship-it, after checking the latest March 2026 policy changes, it seems GitHub has shifted Claude 4.6 (Opus & Sonnet) into a higher subscription tier.
Even if you have 'Copilot Pro', the 'Upgrade' button in your dropdown indicates that your current plan now only covers the GPT-5.x series. To access Claude 4.6 models, GitHub now requires a 'Copilot Plus' add-on or an Enterprise-level seat. You can verify this by checking your subscription billing page to see if your tier has been 'grandfathered' into the basic Pro plan without Claude access.

I've reviewed what each subscription includes, and I bought Copilot Pro, which includes all these features, Claude and more, but it's not working for me, I don't know why. I bought Copilot Pro+ and it's the same thing, so I canceled that subscription because it's expensive and requested a refund because I already had the regular Copilot Pro. Support hasn't responded at all, they just keep telling me that if I want a refund, I'll use their AI, nothing more.

you can go into claude and buy claude and connect it with vscode or the terminal or whatever you're using, using claude code where it works nicer and neater it also can connect with chrome to do your daily shopping finding airplane tickets or whatever idk
