Hello GitHub Community,

My repository "tasnim83596-lgtm/Neon-Surfers-EN" is not being indexed, and ChatGPT cannot access it.
I have tried searching the code and waited more than 24 hours, but indexing hasn't occurred.

hello,

if you mean google indexing then there very litle you can do since this is an automated process.
what worked for me is try to make people aware of your project this will help you get higher on the google front page and on other search resaults.

you mentioned chatGPT not being able to access the repo, i dont know what could cause this exept maybe a temporary problem, i suggest you try again

Why the repository may not be indexed

GitHub’s code‑search index (which powers both the website search and the data that tools like ChatGPT can read) is built automatically, but it only runs under certain conditions:

Condition	What it means for your repo
Public visibility	Private repositories are not included in the public code‑search index.
Non‑empty default branch	The default branch must contain at least one commit (a completely empty repo is skipped).
Not archived or disabled	Archived (Read‑only) or disabled repos are excluded from indexing.
Size limits	Repositories larger than ~100 GB (or with a single file > 100 MB) may be skipped for performance reasons.
Linguist exclusions	Files marked as linguist-generated or vendored in .gitattributes are omitted from the index.
Forks	Forks are indexed, but they inherit the visibility of the upstream repo.

If any of the above is not satisfied, the indexer will skip the repo and you’ll see the “not indexed” behavior you described.

Step‑by‑step checklist to (re)trigger indexing

1. Confirm the repo is public

   • Go to Settings → General → Repository visibility.
   • If it shows Private, click Change repository visibility and make it Public (you’ll need to confirm you understand the implications).

2. Make sure the default branch has content
