I am writing to inquire about the rejection of my educator account credentials. I would like to understand the specific reasons for the rejection and any requirements I may have missed. I would appreciate your feedback so that I can make the necessary corrections and reapply. |

Certificate of employment is the right document type, but the verification system looks for specific things in it that aren't always obvious. A few common reasons it fails even with a valid English document: the school name needs to be clearly recognizable as an educational institution. If the romanized version of your school's name is ambiguous or doesn't match what the system expects, it can trigger a rejection. Make sure the certificate also explicitly states your role as "teacher" or "educator" alongside the institution name, your name, and a recent issue date (within the last 12 months works best). If your school provides an institutional email (something like @school.kr or a regional edu equivalent), applying with that is usually more reliable than document verification. The system trusts institutional email domains and tends to approve them without manual review. If neither of those works, reach out to GitHub Education support directly through the help form and explain you're an international educator. The automated system is strict, but human review is available for cases like yours. |

Verification Help & Guidance
Hi everyone,
I don't understand why this system is failing to verify me. Even after uploading an English certificate of employment, the verification is still being denied. I am a science teacher in South Korea—what more do I need to do to prove my status? This process is incredibly frustrating.
github bot just said "We were unfortunately not able to verify your academic status. Please address the following issues and apply again."......
ha.....
