Hi everyone,
Subject: Application for GitHub Student Developer Pack - Explanation of Institutional Email Unavailability and Student ID Status
To the GitHub Education Support Team,
I am writing to formally apply for the GitHub Student Developer Pack as a dedicated junior college student majoring in Computer Networking at Yantai Nanshan University.
I am fully aware that the standard verification method involves a school-issued email address ending in .edu or .edu.cn . However, I would like to clarify a specific situation regarding my institution: Yantai Nanshan University currently does not provide official institutional email accounts to its students. Consequently, I am unable to verify my academic status through an educational email domain.
Additionally, my physical Student ID card is currently being reissued by the university administration due to loss. Therefore, I cannot provide a photo of the card at this moment.
Despite these administrative limitations, my status as a full-time student is genuine and verifiable. As a Computer Networking major, GitHub is not just a tool for me; it is an essential platform for my academic and professional development. My coursework requires extensive use of version control systems, and I am eager to utilize GitHub Copilot and GitHub Actions to enhance my coding efficiency and manage complex network simulation projects. Access to private repositories (GitHub Pro) is also critical for protecting my intellectual property while collaborating with classmates on course designs.
To substantiate my application, I have attached the following official documents:
Ministry of Education Online Verification Report (CHSI): This is the official government record of my enrollment, which includes my photo, student ID, major, and expected graduation date. This document serves as the primary proof of my current student status in the absence of my physical ID card.
I kindly request that you review my attached documents to verify my enrollment manually. I am eager to join the global developer community and leverage GitHub's tools to become a better software engineer.
Thank you for your time and understanding.
Sincerely,
penghui,xue
