same here. I got the error Sign in failed. Reason: Request signInInitiate failed with message: connect ETIMEDOUT 20.205.243.166:443, request id: 3, error code: -32603. But when I open My vpn, the problem is solved. |

Seeing this same exact issue behind a work proxy with Webstorm although my settings are such that I do not have a proxy manually configured (instructed to do so by my job)

I have found I get the c:\snapshot error when I am using an automatic proxy url, but not if I enter a manual proxy configuration on proxy setting page. |

Try to use the Nightly update channel, if you need a proxy, set it up manually. Check for update, download and install the update, then restart Intellij. Give the plugin's "Login to github" button another try. |

I'm behind a corporate firewall/proxy. This was solved for me by enabling the "Auto-detect proxy settings" option in Settings > Appearance & Behavior > System Settings > HTTP Proxy

I later found that this fix caused issues further in my development process. The final solution to this was specific URLs that Copilot needs were blocked by my corporate firewall. I asked our Networking team to unblock the URLs in our SSL decrypt and reverted my changes to the proxy settings in Webstorm. |

In my case, I could only have Copilot logged in one project at a time 🤯. I couldn't just close my current project and open a new one - I need to log out of Copilot first, then close the existing project, and then open the new project. |

I've encountered a pretty similar problem in WebStorm just yesterday:
Edit🎉 I think I've found the solution or at least a workaround. I've described it on my personal blog with lots of screenshots. It should work the same with other JetBrains' IDEs. I hope it works for you guys, just as it helped me! |

That's interesting. Would you mind sharing what software detects malware on this site? I checked with some online tools, but all seem fine. The solution in my case was that a VPN was in the way. Try turning off all VPNs, most importantly, the one in your IDE:

Today, I attempted to install the Copilot plugin for the first time,
but I encountered a problem when trying to log in.
The login pop-up wouldn't appear.
I was solved this issue by manually installing an older version of the plugin, version 1.2.1.2347.
I believe there may be a bug in the latest version, please look into it.
