This post is an FYI that we'll be cleaning up off-topic discussions from the Discussions category here. Off-topic posts will either be moved to a more appropriate category, the General category, or in some cases deleted.

While the name "Discussions" might make you think "oh! Any discussion is welcome in this category," this area is actually meant to only be a space for the GitHub Discussions product (the product you're currently looking at).

So, we're cleaning up a little to make this category easier to navigate — both for our community and for GitHub employees looking to improve Discussions.

If this feels a little confusing: please read up on GitHub Discussions on the product page here and, please, feel free to post more general discussions in the General category.

The easiest way to find popular discussions and feedback ideas is to use the "Sort By: Top" feature. See it in action below:

Also, be sure to search posts! If you have a question or feedback, another user might have already posted it. More voices on a single piece of feedback is often a stronger and more visible signal than scattered feedback across multiple discussions.
