Hello 👋 y’all, Welcome to another Actions check-in. We hope you’ve had a great April so far and to end with it excitement, I’ll be sharing new Actions features shipped in this past month. Before we dive into them, let’s get started by ✨sparkling some of our amazing community members who stood out this past month.

💌 From the Community - Shoutout 📢 to these members

• @mgexm wanted to programmatically change the run_name from a step in their workflow, our superstar ⭐ @ChristopherHX suggested putting an expression in the run name instead, that worked like a charm.
• A big round of applause 👏 for @ngeorger for helping @dalehenrich resolve the issue with Actions stalling for a couple of days in a row, turns out they had to change the runner requested in their workflow.
• Saved the day for his fellow community members, @ilovepixelart discovered that Sonar cloud has stopped working in GitHub Actions, they researched and downgraded the Action version, that helped the larger community. Incredible! 💗
• A brilliant self-solve 💡 by @nvincent-vossloh who couldn’t use Composite Action with a job that requires a custom docker container. Full marks 💯 for sharing the fixed yaml workflow and keeping the community updated.
• Sparkle ✨@yusancky for showcasing the power of reading and referring to documentation. They were getting a false condition while assigning a runner, but learned that they needed to update the format.

Faster macOS runners are now available in open public beta!

XL-sized 😃 macOS runners can now be used by any developer, without the need to sign-up! You can try the new runners today by setting the runs-on key to macos-latest-xl, macos-12-xl, or macos-13-xl in your workflow file. Also, the macOS 13 (Ventura) beta runner image is now at your fingertips for GitHub-hosted macOS runners.

The Ventura beta runner image and XL runners are available today to all customers! Go check them out! 🏃
