Invitations to join an organization expire after 7 days.
If the user does not click on the invite within the 7 days it expires.
This is not reflected from the perspective of the person who sent the invite - they see it still as 'pending'.
Only once the invitee clicks on the expired link will it change to 'failed'.
I assume that this is not the desired behavior.
