Im not sure what you want me to try. My problem is that the option of surround is not showing up. I read that you can use HDA drivers instead, but then the internal speakers and mic stops working. Im sure it will get fixed some time. But if its gonna take years, I might have to get another laptop instead. What do you think? |

After troubleshooting with different AI and reading on tons of forums seeing other people with the same issue, as I understand, the audio driver is the issue.
I have been using both Zorin OS and Fedora KDE for some months, and it has been working great. That was untill I got myself an AVR (Denon X3800H) and speakers. Unfortunately I had to go back to Windows to get proper passthrough surround. For me it is a dealbreaker that I cant make it work.
We testet my buddys AMD system on the AVR. Its running on Zorin OS (tried with both iGPU on 9800X3D and directly into a 9070 XT) and it worked great right out of the box. Been thinking of selling my Lenovo Yoga laptop and get either a mini-PC or laptop with AMD, but its kinda dumb I have to take it that far to get surround.
I really wanna get away from Windows. Should I stick with the laptop and Windows for now and just wait a bit for it to get fixed, or will it never get fixed, and I should just sell it and get an AMD system?
