Add a graceful-shutdown signal handler that drains in-flight requests #472

Description

This is a backend issue for the GrantFox campaign. On SIGTERM/SIGINT, stop accepting new requests, wait up to 30s for in-flight to finish, then close DB pool and exit.

Requirements and Context

  • Stops accept on signal
  • Drain timer 30s
  • Closes pool last
  • Logs shutdown phases
  • Must be secure, tested, and documented
  • Should be efficient and easy to review

Suggested Execution

  1. Fork the repo and create a branch
    git checkout -b task/graceful-shutdown
  2. Implement changes
    • src/index.ts
    • src/lifecycle/shutdown.ts (new)
  3. Test and commit
    • Run the repo's standard test suite and lint
    • Cover edge cases; include output in the PR

  • Logs phases

Guidelines

  • Minimum 90% test coverage on changed lines
