I found this extension this morning after Gruntfuggly's version was broken by the VSC 1.122 update. I'm glad there's a fork of Todo Tree that is being actively maintained, so thank you very much for your time and effort!
The one issue I've found in my switch to this version is with the better-todo-tree.filtering.includeHiddenFiles setting. In my Win 11 environment at work, when I enable this setting, whether alone or alongside my other better-todo-tree settings, the extension throws "ripgrep failed with exit code 2" with no additional information. If there's anything I can do to help troubleshoot, please let me know and I'll do what I can. Thanks again!

Mhm, that's odd. I'm on Ubuntu 22.04, though, not windows. But I did setup "Winboat" very recently. I can try and reproduce to identify the issues. Could you please share your settings and exact scenario in order for me to reproduce exactly? Thank you! ☺️

@FanaticPythoner , here're the settings I've got for Better Todo Tree right now. I'm assuming none of the other settings I've got in VSC are interfering, but please let me know if you'd like the rest of them for testing. The two folders I have in my workspace are the root folder for my OneDrive for Business account and another folder from my team's SharePoint that's also syncing through OneDrive. While it takes a bit to process the large number of files between these two roots, it does seem to work successfully with these settings. Alternatively, it seems to die pretty quickly once I enable better-todo-tree.filtering.includeHiddenFiles. This leads me to believe it's something in my OneDrive folder that's causing the issue, but I'm not sure how to tell which file(s). Thank you!

I have installed VSCode on windows for all users. As far as I noticed, ripgrep has changed its place.
So as a hot fix I have add in the options following :

"better-todo-tree.ripgrep.ripgrep": "C:\\\\Program Files\\\\Microsoft VS Code\\\\XXXXXXXXX\\\\resources\\\\app\\\\node_modules\\\\@vscode\\\\ripgrep-universal\\\\bin\\\\win32-x64\\\\rg.exe"

XXXXXXXXX represents a changing hash, which has to be changed manually every update. Maybe it helps for the fix of src / config.js, where the path to ripgrep is searched.

Furthermore, there should not be a need to specify any ripgrep custom path even on windows.

I completely agree with you. I just wanted to mention that the path to
“resources\app\node_modules\@vscode\ripgrep-universal\bin\win32-x64\rg.exe”
has changed.
