Chunk loading performance is poor on newly created worlds

Title, chunk loading seems to stall for a long time when entering a new world and when entering dimensions for the first time.

I lack the relevant technical skills to improve performance; it's too difficult

I'm just wondering if it may be a side effect of something recently added in 1.4, me and a friend noticed it was happening only after the recent update

This is caused by removing the render distance limit. If you adjust the render distance to ≤10 chunks, similar to vanilla, there will be no noticeable lag.
