What to build

Evaluate whether Elasticsearch should remain the primary online search path for the low-budget MVP. This slice should compare cost, operational complexity, and acceptable search quality against a PostgreSQL-based fallback path so the team can make an explicit decision instead of carrying ES by default.

Acceptance criteria

• The team has a documented recommendation for keeping ES, downgrading it, or replacing the primary path with PostgreSQL search for MVP.
• The evaluation compares runtime cost, deployment complexity, and search quality tradeoffs.
• The repository contains the agreed operational direction for MVP search.
• Follow-up implementation work is identified clearly if the decision changes the primary search path.
