[Feature]: Keep extension visible in the top bar, even when the audio source is closed

Proposal

Keep the extension visible in the top bar, even if the audio source is closed. For example, I play music with fooyin, and would prefer MediaShell does not disappear when I've closed the app.

Motivation

I'm not a fan of UI elements disappearing / reappearing without direct interaction. Dynamic Music Pill has this feature, with this description:

"Always ON Mode — The pill retains the last known track metadata and stays visible even after the media player is closed, instead of disappearing when no active player is detected."

Expected behavior

I think I've explained it well enough above. As a bonus, if it were possible to open the music app and start music playback again via MediaShell, that would be top-tier functionality.

Compatibility and lifecycle

I'm not a dev and can't answer this.

Alternatives

Nothing else I can really try for this.

for now, i want extension to behave like normal desktop media controls, if there’s no active media session, it disappears.

keep the last player around or waking the app again from the shell side is something i may look into later, but not now.

i’ll keep this open anyway. thanks!
