To run ScanCode independent of python environment. So we can eliminate the prerequisites.

We can try to create ScanCode executable using pyinstaller.

Difficult, I am new to Python. I will try it for myself, If I get positive results I will share and help further.

I made a few tests with shiv which works almost beautifully... but there is a bug in Python and this cannot work for now linkedin/shiv#224

@sschuberth Codon would be awesome if only it were open source. That's a proprietary license of the kind that pretends to be like an open source one :| and could be considered as it has been relicensed under Apache-2.0 in 2025

@pombredanne btw, the cython issues linked at: linkedin/shiv#224 is merged in the python 3.13 release so we could revisit building an app with shiv
