Garbage text when highlighting text for copy #4070

Describe the bug

Whenever I try to highlight output text for copy, I get a ton of garbage text in my input line. When I do "ctrl + C" to copy, additional garbage text is added to my input line.

Steps to reproduce the behavior

  1. Use cursor to highlight text (garbage text will appear)
  2. Ctrl+C (more garbage text will appear)

Expected behavior

There should be no garbage text when highlighting the output text for copying.

Additional context

  • Terminal: Mate 1.26.1
  • OS: Rocky Linux 8.10 (Green Obsidian)
  • Running on VM using Exceed to access the VM
