What to track

Track Phase 23: Optimization Architecture Cleanup.

Plan document:

  • docs/plans/2026-06-18-rust-indexing-core-phase-23-optimization-architecture-cleanup.md

This phase governs post-PRD Rust indexing optimization technical debt. Its purpose is to make the next #165 optimization iteration faster, clearer, and more likely to target the real blocker before continuing with more isolated performance work.

This tracker does not replace #165 and must not close #165.

Acceptance criteria

  • Track evidence pipeline contract cleanup.
  • Track experiment/candidate inventory classification.
  • Track production boundary cleanup for performance paths.
  • Track targeted smoke/profile validation.
  • Track next-candidate decision and manual Post-PRD optimization tracker for Rust indexing performance #165 update.
  • Ensure default user-visible indexing behavior does not change.
  • Ensure SQLite schema and MCP behavior do not change.
  • Ensure installer, packaging, release, status, and npm smoke paths remain untouched unless separately approved.
  • Ensure no full VS Code sparse scoreboard is run by default.
  • Ensure no Rust default rollout readiness is claimed.
