Copy previous blog into draft

How about a button on previous/draft blog posts that would copy a few details like tags, title, and description and then paste them into a new post. This could be helpful for multipart/revisit posts or copying many tags for a specifc topic.

Too niche? If not I would like to do a PR for this.

A bit niche maybe :D but I am more interested on how the general flow would look like.
Copying the whole blog post seems straightforward and we can put that somewhere. But I assume you normally want only specific parts?

If so - we do have "Shortcodes" that would to some extent fulfill what you need. Well - not with the tags, but also there we can be a bit more intelligent (like typeahead and get all tags that do exist).

The flow I was imagining was from edit mode in a draft or published post there would be a button that when clicked it would take you to the new draft screen with title, description, and tags populated from the post.

Your suggestion of a smarter tag input that would show previously used tags sounds great, and honestly would be a good compromise and basically solve my want.

Another idea that came to me after reading your post was to be able to make a blog post series to directly link multiple posts together. Maybe this could be in the header with hyperlinks like:

Posts in this series:
1 2 3 4

I now think the copy button I proposed is probably just clutter that would be rarely used. I do think a series of blogs would be cool but that can also be manually done within the markdown.

Funny :D your issue made me start implementing a "smart" version:

Is this roughly what you need or is there something missing?
Furthermore I do like the "Post Series" idea. Not sure on how the specifics will work, but in general a cool concept. We could track in a separate issue.

@digitaldirk if you have a concrete idea for the "blog series" - how from a user perspective we do that, I am all in!
