remote: Repository not found (only on VSCode)

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Create a private repository on Github
2. Clone it
3. Commit any change and push it
4. I always get this error message:
   remote: Repository not found.
   fatal: Authentication failed for 'https://github.com/begueradj/my_repository/'

Note:

This happens ONLY through VScode, i.e. I do not face this problem through the Ubuntu Terminal tool, for example

Environment:

Version: 1.62.2
Commit: 3a6960b964327f0e3882ce18fcebd07ed191b316
Date: 2021-11-11T20:51:30.084Z
Electron: 13.5.2
Chrome: 91.0.4472.164
Node.js: 14.16.0
V8: 9.1.269.39-electron.0
OS: Linux x64 5.4.0-90-generic snap

• the log output from "Git"
• the log output from "GitHub Authentication"

@luong-komorebi this is a different issue; however, it looks like you might just need to add your remotes to githubPullRequests.remotes.

Hi everyone got the same problem and solved it out,

• First you have to create a personal access token (settings > developper settings > personal access token)
• Then you have to update the url of your local config to put your token :

cd /path/to/your/repo
nano .git/config

then you'll have an url under the origin section (looks like this)

[remote "origin"]
	url = https://github.com/username/repo.git

here just change the url by :

[remote "origin"]
	url = https://<username>:<personalToken>@github.com/username/repo.git

Then it should work :) hope it helped

NB: make sure to use https
